• For an estimated prison date or an alert, use Release Date Lookup or VINE Inmate Check.
• For one facility, use the Craven County Detention Center or Craven Correctional Institution page listed in the footer.
• For a sentenced state prisoner, use NCDAC Offender Public Information.
• For federal or immigration custody, use the BOP or ICE locator, not the county roster.

Craven Jail and Sheriff

Ask the jail or Sheriff's Office which custodian maintains the booking or release sheet. General county public-record inquiries may be sent to pio@cravencountync.gov. Court matters go to the clerk.

Craven Court Records

The clerk can route requests for case summaries, dispositions, judgments, and copies. A court order explains legal authority, while the jail record supplies the physical departure time.

State Prison and Supervision

Use NCDAC Offender Public Information or the NCDAC public-record request form for state sentence and release facts. The current Community Supervision directory should confirm the correct office because public contact assignments can change. Detailed supervision files remain confidential.

Commission and SAVAN Help

The Commission handles applicable parole and post-release conditions. NCDAC Community Supervision performs field supervision. NC SAVAN can help with searches and alerts but is not the formal custodian of a release sheet.
